Catalonga Slow Food Walk (part of Scottish Food Fortnight)
As part of Scottish Food Fortnight we invite you to join us for this new walk that is being organised through the Blairgowrie and East Perthshire Walking Festival in partnership with “Love to Eat 2012”, Cittaslow and Slow Food Perth and takes the form of a “Magnalonga”, an Italian concept which combines walking in the countryside with stops along the way, including lunch, to sample local produce.
A gentle stroll through some of the finest countryside that Scotland has to offer with local leaders that will share their in depth knowledge of the woodlands and wildlife. This is one of the final and newest link sections of the Cateran Trail, providing a direct link with Alyth instead of going via Bridge of Cally. Before the walk begins, enjoy something tasty to get you going. Then, starting high, going through Drimmie Wood on good tracks, before joining the road to Alyth Den at Tullyfergus. Lunch will be served along the way, not to mention liquid refreshment from the well know Cairn O Mhor winery. The final stage of this Fabulous Foodie Walk takes us through the ancient and scenic Den of Alyth before we arrive back at the town square
